(c) Suggestions Scheme: To arouse and maintain employees interest in

the problems of their concern and its management, suggestions scheme can be used with advantages. The management may invite suggestions from the workers for improvement in the existing set-up and agree to pay suitable sums of money by way of rewards to the workers whose suggestions prove really useful. The payment may bear some proportion to the value of the suggestion in terms of improvement brought about or profit reaped. Such schemes are useful because they provide not only some new ideas to the management but also a feeling of importance to the workers.

which an employer or employees and a group of employees agree to the conditions of work.

PREREQUISITES OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

Effective collective bargaining requires the following essential prerequisites:

(a) Existence of a strong representative trade union that believes in constitutional means.

(b) Existence of strong and enlightened management.

(c) Agreement of the basic objectives.

(d) Existence of a fact-finding approach and willingness to use new methods and tools for the solution of industrial problems.

(e) Clear perception and proper communication.

(f) Transparency in approach.

(g) Positive attitude.
